Affiliate marketing is where you are advertising by placing links on your web page to link to a publishers web site. There is information passed in the link, so you are identified as the advertiser that sent the lead to the publishers site.

Some publishers pay by the lead, but most pay if the person you sent to their site purchases something. You will then get a small commission of that sale.
